My niece Sandra was only 7 years old when she got 6 hand made towels from her grandma, my mom Elly, on Christmas 1977. The towels had an interesting history, which was told in a letter that came with the present. My sister Sylvia has kept the Christmas present for her daughter until now, when it was found again in a cupboard - in it's original wrapping paper and with the letter and all enclosed - by Sandras son Elias. The towels and the letter was a big success when the present was opened again now, almost 30 years later.

The linen for the towels was grown by my grandma, Ebba Adele Karlsson, in 1940 at her farm Åkra outside of Uppsala. Her mom, Anna Lovisa Ahlen, spun the linen and the fabric was woven by my mom and her sister Karin. My mom embroided her initials on them and she and her sister won third price with them at a Farmers Youth Organization's handicraft competition in 1942, the same year when my sister Sylvia was born. There's a lot of family history woven into those towels.
